My Christmas Party Style

Monday, December 14, 2015

Unfortunately, because I've recently had knee surgery, I'm missing out on the majority of Christmas parties this year. It's not all bad though as I've been working my way through Sabrina the Teenage Witch and X-Files box-sets (reliving my youth little) as well as a selection box or two.
I'll be back on my feet in a few weeks so will definitely be having a late party or two after the new year to make it up for missing out.

A party look for me usually consists of a little black dress, some chunky heels and glam, smoky makeup. This year I switched things up a bit and picked a gorgeous black lace playsuit from Luxemme. Even though I'm stuck in my pjs for the time being, the Laciann Elegant Lace Detail Playsuit  will be a great piece for all year round. I love the cutout back panel and mid length sleeves. I like to wear black as its classic, flattering and means I can add a splash of colour with my glasses. I love my red Carnegie pair from Iolla.

For a festive makeup look I've used a few pieces from The Body Shop's Christmas collection as well as some old favorites.
I used the Body Shop's Swinging Silver Palette for my eyes, along with Illamasqua Glimpse Brow Gel, L'Oreal Superliner, MAC Smoulder Khol Pencil and Benefit They're Real Mascara.
For a flawless base I used, L'Oreal True Match Foundation, Nars Creamy Concealer, Illamasqua Heroine Eyeshadow to contour and The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer as a highlight (I get a bit carried away with this as its gorgeous) and finally I used The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in shade 110 Coral Blush dabbed lightly on my lips and finished with a clear gloss. I prefer the slightly stained look than full on opaque when it comes to lipsticks.
No Christmas makeup look would be complete without some glitter so for a festive sparkle I also added a swish of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in Midnight Cowboy on my lower lashline.

I can't wait to get dressed up properly once I'm back on my feet, sadly after I took these photos, I was back in my comfy pjs and snuggled up with a good book and my Isle of Skye Sleep Sensation Candle, at least I didn't have sore feet at the end of the night and have to wait for a taxi home in the rain.
