Who doesn't love a sleepover? When I was younger my friends and I used to have one every weekend. Usually these consisted of listening to music (Now 34, Space and Hanson were favs), creating Spice Girl's dance routines (I was always Geri obvs), watching a scary movie (Scream, always Scream) and me panting everyone's faces with the contents of my silver makeup train case that was glued to my hip (it included a lot of rollerball body glitter, fake tattoos and blue hair mascara) - those were the days.

I attended a sleepover more recently with some of my favorite gal pals and Glasgow bloggers and although it was slightly more refined, the fun and sleepover spirit still remained.
Rather than attempting to squeeze five of us in sleeping bags on someone's living room floor, Laura, Lisa, Sami, Ayden, Lynsay and I headed along to Glasgow's Grand Central Hotel for a bit more comfort. The hotel excelled itself and provided us with beautiful rooms for our girly night which was festively adorned with decorations from Wilko. Unfortunately due to my recent knee surgery I wasn't able to sleep overnight but I have it on good authority that the beds were very comfortable and difficult to leave in the morning. Grand Central also have some great festive vouchers which would make a great Christmas gift.

The hotel's restaurant, Tempus, provided a veritable feast in the form of lots of teeny tapas dishes including panko crusted olives, truffle fries and sticky toffee pudding. We also had delicious mini brownies from Thorntons but the piece de resistance was an amazing salted caramel gateaux from Three Sisters Bake (I wish I could eat this everyday). For drinks we enjoyed some special edition J.W. Anderson Diet Coke bottles and mixing our own fruity drinks using Funkin' Cocktails. These are so handy as you just pour in the spirit, add the cocktail mix and give it a wee shake. PJ Party Hostess extraordinaire, Laura, made some Funkin' good punch!

One thing every girl needs at a sleepover is some decent nightwear. We each chose a fun animal Kigurami Onesie from Tickled Pink these were super soft and cosy. The room service butler had a bit of a giggle at us (I think he secretly wanted to join in the fun). We also had some snugly hot water bottles from Edinburgh Woolen Mill.

We all had a great time during the sleepover chatting about blogging and beauty products, we loved having a sniff of Arran Aromatics new Christmas gift sets and we couldn't wait to have a peek inside our goodie bags from House of Fraser. Laura made up a fab, festive(ish) Spotify playlist so not a dodgy 90's cd in earshot. I don't think I've laughed so much in a long time, it really was a perfect evening and I was so sad to have to go home.

Who says sleepovers are for kids? Thank you so much Laura for organising such a perfect. pre-Christmas treat. You can check out #GrandCentralSleepover on Instagram to see more photos of the fun!
