Zoeva Brushes

I am a bit of a makeup brush fiend. I tend to hoard them and I’m rather protective over my favorites.
Instead of carrying one or two in my handbag when I go out I like to have a full set with me at all times. (Clearly an essential) I really need to invest in a travel size set to save my poor back from carrying around so much but I haven’t yet found one that ticks all the boxes for me.

When choosing brushes I tend to favor synthetic bristles as they are often softer and shed less.  However occasionally I’m surprised and come across some fantastic natural bristled brushes which are equally as good.
I recently attended a press day in London and checked out the new brushes from Zoeva. I have been using the 227 Luxe Soft Definer (£6.95) for the past few weeks and have been very pleasantly surprised by how much I like using it.

The 227 is a natural fibre blending brush, it is super soft. Normally I use the Illamasqua blending brush which is possibly one of the softest and fluffiest brushes I've ever come across. I do however find that due to the texture it isn't as precise as I'd like it to be. Zoeva's offering, although soft, also has a nice firmness to it due to the dense bristles. It picks up color and deposits well while still giving a soft finish. It washes well and hasn't shed a single bristle. (I'm rather vigorous with my brush cleaning)

The similarities between Zoeva's 227 and the 217 brush from MAC have to be noted. MAC's brush is ever so slightly more tapered at the bottom and isn't as soft (also around a third more expensive) but it is a fairly good dupe in both looks and performance.

I'm also now completely lusting after the Rose Golden Luxury Set from Zoeva (pictured top). This completely sold out at this years IMATS and I was really annoyed not to get my hands on it.

You can find these brushes on the Zoeva website or via Love Makeup.
