Hely Hair Studio

I always find it difficult to fully trust a hairdresser. This stems from a horrific haircut when I was younger and wanted some shorter layers at the front so I could stick two thin strands out of my ponytail a la Sporty Spice. Unfortunately I ended up with something which resembled a "lego man" hairstyle. Late 90's/early noughties were not good years for my hair.

I've recently discovered a great hair studio nestled away in Glasgow's Hyndland. Hely Hair studio has just celebrated its 90th year of hairdressing which is an amazing achievement.
The salon itself is lovely and light, with lots of products on display and top of the range styling tools. It has a lovely relaxing atmosphere and a massive selection of Teapigs (I am easily won over by tea)
I had a lovely deep conditioning treatment which left my hair feeling super soft and shiny and a bit of a trim to tidy up the ends of my hair.

My hair is naturally very straight but can often look a little lank and just hang by my face. I don't use straighteners and rarely blow dry, so when I'm visiting the professionals I like to opt for a nice bouncy blow dry. Often when I ask for this the curls are a little too big for my liking and I end up waking up looking a little like a lion the next day. The stylists at Hely managed to get it exactly right for me and created lots of movement and soft waves rather than massive curls, I love the look.

I left with not only gorgeous hair but also plenty of tips on how to re-create the look at home (although, admittedly I am still rubbish at it).

Hely hair studio is located at 25 Clarence Drive, Glasgow. To find out more or make a booking visit www.helyhairstudio.co.uk/ or call 0141 332 6068
