Catch Up with Me on Instagram

Monday, December 04, 2017

I may not have been documenting my life recently on the blog but I've been using my Instagram account (@glasgowbeautyblogger) to share what I've been up to. I'll be posting more here soon too.
Sometimes life catches up on you and you feel like you don't have as much time as you'd like for some things. I mentioned in an older post that I've moved house recently and this means that I'm now approximately a 2.5 hour round trip away from my day job which kills the time I have in the evenings at home.

So, with that, I thought I'd use this post as a bit of a catch up of what I've been up to and what I've been loving recently. I'll be doing full posts/reviews of some of the bits I've mentioned here too.
As this is predominantly a beauty blog where better to start than with some of the makeup and products I've been using recently.
Last month I visited Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Trailer when it was in Glasgow. I tried out the new Hollywood range and got my hands on some amazing new products. The Beauty Light Wand and Hollywood Contour Wand are fantastic products which make it really easy to sculpt your face especially when using the Hollywood Complexion brush to blend. I'm not usually a lipstick fan but the Hollywood Matte lipstick in Charlotte Darling is really comfortable to wear and smells delicious.

Rihanna has absolutely smashed it this year with the launch of Fenty Beauty. I've had to eat my words as I didn't have huge hopes for the collection based upon other celebrity collections I've tried in the past but I'm a massive fan of this and can't wait to try out some of the other products. I've been using The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters in Ginger Binge/Moscow Mule, Lightening Dust/Fire Crystal  and Metal Moon and also the foundation which I love. The Pro Filter Matte Longwear Foundation stays put and sets really quickly so might not be for those with dry skin unless you have a great primer underneath but is perfect for me.

A brand I've recently been introduced to is Wonderland Makeup who are Cruelty Free, affordable and made in the UK. I've been trying out their Studio Finish Primer which is fantastic and reminds me of another higher end product. I also have a red lipstick and nail polish I'll be using over the festive period.

I can't not mention one of my absolute favorite products that recently launched which is the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette. I will do a full post on this soon but its bloody brilliant and perfect for my skintone. I can't get enough of this and use it every single day. I's just perfect!

I needed to order myself some new clothes and when Motel Rocks had a sale I decided to pick up a few bits. I wear a lot of Motel Rocks in general and always wear their tube skirts to work and love this star print one. I also got a black and gold striped sequin skirt to wear over Christmas as well as a celestial print playsuit. I've never really worn a playsuit before but I adore the print on this and its a great fit.

Soap & Glory very kindly send me their Hello Super Spa set. I love their body butters and scrubs so looking forward too trying this out. They always do the best Christmas sets which make perfect gifts for beauty lovers. The Soap & Glory Spa of Wonder set is also an absolute steal this week at £30 which is half price.

A few weeks ago I started a meal replacement diet with Shake That Weight to lose a few pounds for the festive season. They have a great wide range of products and I can honestly say are tastier than any other meal replacement I've tried so far.  I especially like the Gorgeous Gingerbread shake and Lemony Yoghurt Bars. I only replace 2 meals a day and always have a home cooked meal in the evening. I often skip breakfast or have to grab lunch on the run as I'm busy in the office so this is perfect for my lifestyle. Unfortunately for medical reasons I had to stop as I tore ligaments in my knee recently and had to take strong painkillers but I'll be starting this again in a week or so and will share how I got on in a full post.

I never seem to sleep very well in general so I've been using some products from Benenox to try and see if they can help. The Benenox Overnight Recharge syrups are available in two flavours, Blackcurrant and Honey & Lemon which contain natural vitamins and herbs to help promote good sleep. I've started a 2 week challenge to record how well I'm feeling and sleeping so I'll report back on how I've got on soon.

I've got a lot more to share with you so keep reading and following me on social media.
