MAC Launch new Studio in Glasgow!

Friday, October 07, 2016

A few weeks ago the MAC concession in Glasgow's House of Fraser (aka the place my wages disappear to) had a massive revamp and has now turned into a huge studio. The majority of the HoF beauty hall has had a few changes with the additions of Charlotte Tilbury and Clarins Beauty Bar so its definitely worth a look if you haven't been in for a while.

The new MAC studio sits in place of Yo!Sushi (which I'm a little sad about if I'm honest as there is now no longer one in Glasgow city centre) and is around three times the size of the previous counter. The space includes a whopping 18 makeup stations and space for events and masterclasses which I think will be fantastic for the brand as its Glasgow store sometimes seemed to have a little bit of a disconnect with its customers.

I've been along twice since the revamp to have my makeup done including one on the day of the launch party. I've been absolutely thrilled with my makeup on both occasions and will definitely be visiting again soon. The first visit I had a gorgeous smokey eye with some added purple Good Luck Trolls glitter to my lashes from the Trolls collection. Some of the makeup artists had glittery purple lips but as I was going for dinner afterwards I stuck to Rebel lipstick which is a rich plum colour.

My second visit which was during the main launch of the studio also coincided with MAC's new Art of the Lip campaign. The imagery is so bright and colourful and really added to the party atmosphere. I especially liked playing around with some of the props with friends from the PR team. (we're so cool!) MAC Artist Shelly created a cool, burgundy, graphic eye makeup and used the new Liptensity lipstick in Smoked Almond lined with Chesnut lip pencil to finish the look.
I have some of the products which were used on me and can't wait to attempt to re-create some of the looks.

MAC's new studio is located within Glasgow's House of Fraser and can be accessed via Buchanan Street. I'd 100% recommend a visit!
