Glasgow Style Mile Shopping Festival 25th-30th May 2016

Thursday, May 19, 2016

Outside of London, Glasgow is the best shopping destination in the UK. The wide range of shops and department stores make it the perfect place for a bit of retail therapy.
Glasgow's main shopping zone, "The Style Mile" is the area around Buchanan Street and is filled with a vast array of high street, designer and boutique stores. From 25th - 30th May 2016 the city will be holding it's first ever "Glasgow Style Mile Shopping Festival" to celebrate this vibrant shopping district.

A Festival Hub will be located on Buchanan Street with a daily programme of activities including food sampling, pampering sessions, music and homeware tips.
The St. Enoch Shopping Centre will also be home to some fantastic events such as a Spring Fashion Fix with Debenhams and top stylist, Julie Hannah on Friday 27th May and a Makeup Masterclass with Makeup Artist Jamie Genevieve on Sunday 29th May. More events can be found on the St. Enoch Centre Events webpage.

I popped into the St Enoch Centre recently and picked up a few beauty bits to give my makeup bag a bit of a summer upgrade. I visited a few different shops within the centre and picked up a whole range of Summer beauty goodies.

Debenhams

Urban Decay Naked Palette (£38.50) - My first Naked palette was looking a little rough so I picked up a shiny (well velvety) new one. This is packed full of gorgeous, warm bronzes and smoky, summery shades.
Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter in Aura (£19.00) - I am all about highlight at the moment (as are most makeup lovers) Aura gives a gorgeous, iridescent glow to the skin.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Neutral (£17.50) - I try not to wear a huge amount of foundation in Summer and this concealer is great to use on its own as it blends into the skin seamlessly while covering any imperfections.
Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sunkissed (£20.00) - It wouldn't be a Summer makeup revamp without a bit of bronzer. Urban Decay's Summer range has lovely, tropical, palm tree packaging this year. The shade is pigmented but build-able and looks natural on my pale skin.

Boots

Smashbox Indecent Exposure Mascara (£19.50) - I've needed a good, black mascara for a while and wanted to try something a bit different. In Summer I don't like to wear a heavy mascara so this new one from Smashbox gives my lashes a very natural, lengthening look without weighing them down.
Benefit Shy Beam (£19.50) - This liquid highligher has quickly become one of my absolute favourite Benefit products, it gives a beautiful, matte, radiance to the skin and perks up tired complexions.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London (£5.50) - The queue for the new NYX counter in Boots was massive, I had to fight my way to the front to get a look at all the products. I've been wanting to try these lip products for a while and I'm so glad I did. This shade is my lips but better.
L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation in Porcelain (£9.99) - I've previously used a MAC version of this product which I liked a lot so decided to pick up a high-street option to compare. I'm not 100% sold on it as I think the spongy packaging is a bit gimmicky but the product inside is fantastic. L'Oreal foundations are amazing quality considering the price. This has light to medium coverage and gives a dewy finish perfect for Summer.

The Body Shop

Pinita Colada Shower Gel (£5.00) - I've been wanting to try the Body Shop's new Summer range, Pinita Colada for a while. I've already got a few Body Butters open at the moment so thought I'd try out the shower gel instead. I can't stop sniffing the bottle of this as the fresh pineapple scent is delicious.
Pink Grapefruit EDT (£8.50) - My absolute favorite scent, I go through bottles of this like its going out of fashion. I can't be without it and if you ever give me a sniff 99% of the time I'd smell like this.
Coconut EDT (£8.50)  - As it's summer I thought I'd give the Coconut fragrance a try and I'm so glad I did. One spritz and I'm transported to a tropical beach. These perfumes layer up really well too for a fun cocktail scent.
