Oh, Hi 2016!

As usual I'm a little late to the party. I took some well needed time off over Christmas and New Year to relax a little and recover from a knee operation. I've suffered from knee pain since I was a teenager due to Osgood-Schlatter disease (which means I had a little extra bit of bone which had pulled away from my tibia) so I had the offending piece removed and the bone reshaped a little . I'm feeling much better now and hope to be fully recovered soon. Thanks for all your well wishes on social media.



I had a wonderful time over the festive period and was well and truly spoiled at Christmas. I received some lovely gifts including lots of Lush goodies, some super cozy pajamas from Fat Face, Illustrated version of Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone and a beautiful set of Zoeva brushes. I also treated myself to a new pair of glittery black Dr. Marten boots which I'm still trying to break in.
I took part in a blogger secret santa with JustMyLook too which was fun. Unfortunately my gift was broken when it arrived so I wasn't able to photograph it but the thought was lovely.


We also welcomed a new spiky little family member. Begbie is an African Pygmy Hedgehog and is eight weeks old. He is a lovely boy but can be a bit huffy when he first wakes up. We've had several exotic pets over the years and made sure we done our research before bringing him home. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they will be similar to care for as a hamster but APH have very specific requirements in terms of their heating, food and home. If you are thinking of getting an exotic pet, (or any pet) please do your research and make sure you are able to afford the upkeep and vet costs.

You might see some changes here for 2016, I'll still be focused on bringing you all the best beauty buys and news but I'll also be incorporating a bit more of my life in general (and Begbie's). I can't wait to share all the exciting new beauty launches coming soon.  I hope you all have a fantastic year and I can't wait to see what lies ahead for 2016!
