Merumaya Skincare

I recently went along to John Lewis in Glasgow to find out more about skincare brand Merumaya.
I was treated to a lovely facial using Merumaya products and had a chat about the benefits.

Merumaya was created by Maleka Dattu who wanted to create a range of effective, evidence based, anti-ageing skincare products. Merymaya uses the term "integrative" often, as the range has been developed to help prevent as well as reducing existing signs of skin aging.

Although Merymaya products are designed for home use, its worthwhile popping into a counter or retailer to find out which products will be best for your skin type. During my facial, my therapist asked about my skin concerns (I have normal-combination skin, that gets quite dehydrated rather than dry) and used products suited to my skin, then she talked me through how to apply the products correctly at home and how often to use them. They have a wide range of products including Serum, Moisturiser, Melting Cleansers and even skincare supplements.

A stand out product for me is the Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel (£19.50) which uses a glycolic peel and pomegranate enzymes to gently remove dead skin cells. It has a gel like formula and tingles slightly on first application. It left my skin feeling clean and soft with a lovely glow. I've added this into my skincare regime and now use it around once a week to brighten. I prefer this type of exfoliation over a more gritty one as it doesn't leave the skin looking as red afterwards.

Merumaya products are available from John Lewis and can be found instore in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
