Skinceuticals Mineral Radiance UV Defense

This warm weather is absolutely playing havoc with my makeup routine. After a few hours of enjoying the sunshine my foundation seems to turn into a melting mess.  I’m partly to blame though as I tend to favour full coverage foundations and layer on fairly thick which is, admittedly, totally unnecessary especially in 29 degree weather.

Last weekend I packed up my sleeping bag and tent and headed off to Wickerman Festival in Dumfries. The weather normally stays quite nice there at this time of year but we were told to expect soaring temperatures on the Friday.

Due to this I decided to ditch my beloved full coverage foundation for something lighter and with a little more of an SPF included.  In my festival makeup bag I packed my Skinceuticals Mineral Radiance UV Defense. It is more of a complexion booster rather than a foundation but the addition of a SPF 50 makes it perfect for festivals wear.

The formula is really lightweight and although offers a little bit of a skin tint, coverage is minimal so you may want to pack a concealer too. As it is mineral based you need to give it a really good shake to mix the ingredients otherwise it comes out a little watery. As a natural redhead I tend to burn easily and also become covered in freckles after being in the sun. I quite liked how these shone through rather than being covered up with a thick foundation.

You can find the Mineral Radiance UV Defense (£35.00) on the Skinceuticals website or in Glasgow at the Elanic Clinic, which is a consultant led luxury health, beauty and asthetic clinic offering surgical and non-surgical procedures using cutting edge techniques and equipment.
