Makeup Revolution Scandalous Lipstick Collection

Monday, June 16, 2014

Makeup Revolution is the brand everyone in the beauty world has been talking about at the moment.
Hotly tipped to take over where MUA left off Makeup Rev have a massive collection of affordable cosmetics with something for everyone.
I love a good, funky coloured lipstick for the festival season so the Scandalous collection was right up my street. This consists of 5 lipsticks for the bargain price of £1.00 each (or £.4.00 if you buy the full collection in one, make sure you add the collection and not the individual lipsticks like I did, oops)

These lipsticks are housed in shiny black plastic tubes with the shade clearly shown on the bottom. At first I thought these coloured parts were little pots of gloss similar to MUA lipsticks but alas, just plastic. My only annoyance with the packaging is that the lids are quite loose and fall off in my bag a lot. The formula is pretty similar for all shades. In MAC terms these are sort of in between a satin and a cremesheen, they glide on easily. Although they have a slighly glossy finish the lipsticks aren't all that moisturising so make sure you slick on a balm underneath. Also, they have a slightly odd scent, which I haven't decided I like or not, its sort of a MAC Vanilla mixed with Play Doh scent, its definitely interesting.
Overall I think these are pretty decent, especially for the price, I'm glad more affordable brands are branching out into the more "out-there" shades.

The Shades in the Scandalous Collection are;
Crime -  Lilac based pink
Depraved - Mid toned Purple
Immoral - A Smurfy sort of blue
Vice - Warm Tangerine
Felony  - Bright Yellow

The Scandalous Collection can be purchased via the Makeup Revolution and Superdrug Websites and will be available in Superdrug stores later in the year.
