Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow

Its no secret that I'm a massive fan of Hard Rock Cafe's and often make the trip through to the Edinburgh Cafe for cocktails and masses of amazing food. When Hard Rock opened a Glasgow venue late last year I was really excited but for some reason I've only recently managed to pop along to try it out.

Hard Rock Glasgow is situated about halfway up Buchanan Street, (close to the new Buchanan Quarter)  in the Athenaeum Theatre building. The Cafe has over 9,000 square-feet of space which includes seating for 170 guests, a late night bar, live music area and a famous Rock Shop for merchandise. The space is truly amazing and I was blown away by the size. As with all Hard Rock Cafe's the walls are adored with some fab rock memorabilia. My favorite pieces are the late Clarence Clemons' (E Street Band Saxophonist) kilt and bagpipes. I'm a massive Springsteen fan!

As well as the great vibe, Hard Rock are well known for their tasty, American style food which is served in, well, completely massive portions. (not a bad thing for me)

I absolutely adore the new cocktail/aperitif, Air Mexico which is a flight of three mini margaritas, (original, mango and blue cuacao I believe) tortilla chips and salsa. I wish they would deliver these, I'd be happy sitting on the sofa watching a movie with this.

Next up was a sharing tray (mountain) of Nachos or Nachopalooza as they are known. These come plain, or with shredded beef/chicken and the usual nacho toppings, (sour cream, guacamole, salsa etc) They are very filling and would easily feed 4-6 people as a starter.

After the massive Nacho-fest, I fancied something a bit lighter and opted for the Grilled Chicken Chop salad (minus the pecans, allergies) I love a good salad and this was full of lovely fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, sweetcorn and thinly sliced chicken breast.

I'm not that big on deserts but the Oreo Cheesecake is not one to be missed, just look at the lovely, creamy, biscuity goodness. You really have to taste it to experience it. Yum!

Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow is located at 179 Buchanan Street and can be contacted on 0141 353 8790.
