My Go-To MAC Eyeshadow Quad

Tuesday, September 24, 2013

I think everyone has their favourite eyeshadow combos, the shades that flatter skin-tone and eye colour and can be applied quickly for a striking look.

My go-to's at the moment all are from MAC and fit nicely into my little quad. I'm not a fan of the larger MAC palettes as I think they are a little overpriced and I have something similar from ebay which does just the job.
I do however like the quads as they are robust enough to bash around in the bottom of my handbag without the eyeshadows being damaged.

I like to carry this quad with me as I often go out straight after work and I like to be able to quickly adapt my daytime makeup for something a little more smokier for the evening.
As I have blue eyes I like to go for warm shades for my eyes, bronze and gold colours really seem to make my eyes pop.

This quad contains all MAC products clockwise from top left;

Nylon - My favourite highlight shade, nearly matte, off white with a tiny hint of shimmer.
Smut - Black/ deep grey with a subtle copper shimmer, great for a crease shade or as a liner.
Glamour Check - deep copper brown
Amber Lights - bright, metallic bronze

For a daytime look, I like to use Nylon all over the lid right up to the browbone and then blend a little Amber lights onto the lid and finish with a slick of black liner and mascara.
If I'm off out I'll add a Glamour check to the crease and smudge Smut along the upper and lower lashline and add some falsies.

You can buy MAC eyeshadows (£12 in pan/£10 without) and Palettes from the MAC website or from a MAC concession. The Glasgow counters are based in House of Fraser Glasgow and Debenhams Silverburn.
