Primo Podiatry at Blythswood Spa & Treatment Giveaway! - Contest Closed
Tuesday, April 09, 2013Being rather on the short side I often wear fairly high heels which play havoc with my tootsies and I often find that my feet could do with some TLC.
I was really pleased to find out that a great new podiatry clinic, Primo Podiatry, has opened up within Blythswood Spa so couldn't wait to go along and have my feet taken care of.
I had been at a wedding the weekend before and was wearing ridiculous stilettos so my feet all day and stood on a kilt pin so my feet were a little worse for wear when I arrived.

A lot of people overlook Podiatrists or mix them up with someone who carries out pedicures.
The difference is that podiatrists are healthcare professionals that provide diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle and lower leg disorders whereas a pedicure is a superficial cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails.
Podiatry treatments are designed to improve the overall condition of the feet and lower legs and include corn removal, verrucae treatment, callous reduction, nail issues, dry cracked skin and general foot pain.
Primo Podiatry is owned by Sarah, who owns the clinic was kind enough to invite me along to have a treatment.
I have been to a podiatrist a few times in the past as I've broken a small bone in the front of my foot (that isn't supposed to be there in the first place, funnily enough) it doesn't cause me too many problems now thankfully.
I think that the clinic is in a great location, Blythswood Spa is gorgeous and incredibly relaxing. The treatment room was lovely and had a very cosy heated bed.
I discussed with Sarah that often when I wear high heel I find that my toes are numb for the next few days, She advised that it is possibly due to the shape of my feet and that switching to smaller heels rather than my usual 6 inch would help so I'll give that a try. I rarely wear heels unless its a special occasion and normally live in my Dr Marten boots so its not too much of an issue.
Normally I do take care of my feet I'm like to use a pumice after a bath and then apply loads of Soap and Glory Heel Genius and put on some cozy socks overnight to keep them soft. I do however often get some little dry patches around my heels so any help with getting rid of that was very much welcomed. (Apologies for the close up of my feet, the photos make them look worse than they were)
The whole process took around 30 minutes and afterwards I was amazed by how soft and smooth my feet were. I thought my feet were in good condition before I went but I honestly can't believe the difference after my treatment, I couldn't stop touching my feet afterwards and was brandishing them in my partners face when I got home.
Sarah recommended I do some maintenance at home by using a foot cream and buffing away any dry areas to keep my feet feeling as good as when I left the salon.
To show how much I think you will enjoy it, I have three vouchers for a 30 minute initial treatment to give away (worth £40.00 courtesy of the lovely Sarah).
