My Little Lifesavers - Products Which Help Me Feel Better

Saturday, January 26, 2013

When I'm unwell I like to keep myself as comfortable as possible and little luxuries like beauty products and clean, cozy socks always make me feel better.

I've recently had surgery to help correct some problems I have with my ears and hearing. I had to spend a few days in hospital this week and as some of you may know hospitals aren't exactly the most comfortable of places. They often have awful air-conditioning which always plays havoc with my skin.

Before going into hospital I like to make sure I have a little bag packed with essentials to keep me (and my skin) happy throughout my stay. I have picked up a few Kiehls product recently and I don't know how I've managed without them until now.

Some of the products I like to use to keep myself in as tip-top condition as possible are;

1.Benefit Ultra Radiance Facial Re-Hydrating Mist -£19.50/ 331 ml This spritz is a godsend for combatting the effects of stuffy air conditioning. It also lasts for ages and has a really pretty scent.

2.Neal's Yard Remedies Organic Facial Wipes - £5.50/ 25 Wipes  These have soothing aloe vera and antioxidant white tea which is great for wiping away impurities, a little pricey for everyday use but great for a little luxury to make you feel better.

3.Kiehls Ultra Facial Cream - £43.50/ 125ml or £24.00/ 50 ml, I have fallen in love with this face cream recently, I can't get enough of it and I'll definitely be buying the full size version soon. Its really hydrating yet feels so light.

4.Kiehls Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque - £28.00/ 125ml, Applied in a thick layer and allowed to settle in for 10 minutes before patting off the excess means that this masque will help to lock in hydration while you sleep.

5. Kiehls Creme de Corps - £8.50.50/ 75ml-1L, Your body needs looking after too while unwell and Creme de Corps is a luxuriously thick body lotion, its unperfumed which is great as strong scents can sometimes make you feel worse if you are ill. Leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth without being sticky.

6. Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate - £36.00/ 30ml, My skin has never felt so soft and smooth than the day after using this product, I'm not a fan of lavender scents but even I like this, its really relaxing.

7. Kiehls Lipbalm #1 - £9.50/ 15ml tube My lips always are so dry and chapped when I'm ill and the air con makes it worse, I've been using this for about a week now and I've really felt the benefits. I haven't had to reapply too often which is a big plus.

8. Cozy Socks - A must for hospitals, I'm not a fan of slippers unless I have to and these are the best for keeping my tootsies cozy, Primark do some fab pairs for about £2.00 for 2 pairs. whats not to love.

9. Trashy Magazines - I love a good magazine and Pick Me Up is one of my favorites, I love to read but can't concentrate enough on a book when I'm ill so real life stories are my vice when I'm not feeling my best.

Thankfully I'm back at home and although still sore and taking lots of pain medication I should hopefully be back on my feet in a few weeks.
I have a very fetching scar which sort of looks like I've had a facelift, I haven't though...Honest!
