Illamasqua Bronzing Duo Review - Glint and Writhe

Monday, October 01, 2012

If you are quite fair skinned like me you may also be a little afraid of bronzing products.
But fear not as I have been on the hunt for the perfect products to give that sun-kissed look as well as helping to contour which will suit any skintone.

The newest product I’ve been using is Illamasqua’s bronzing duo in Glint and Writhe, (soft, luminous peach and golden tan)
This is the lightest of the two bronzing duos that Illamasqua have to offer the other being Glint and Burnish (soft, luminous peach and golden).
These products contain a highlighter and a bronzer which both have multiple uses, they even double up as gorgeous shimmery eyeshadows.
You can swirl both products together to give a sunkissed glow with just the right amount of shimmer, or apply Glint, the highlighter above the cheekbones, on the browbone and bridge of the nose and Writhe/Burnish in the hollows of the cheeks, temples, jawline and nose as a contouring powder.
I normally use mine as a contouring powder for those like myself with fairer skin I would advise being fairly light handed with Writhe as it is very pigmented so a little goes a long way. I use my Illamasqua highlighter brush to apply this duo and then buff it in with my Illamasqua powder brush.
The bronzing duo contains crushed pearl powder which gives a smooth, even finish and a gorgeous golden glow that is not muddy like some bronzing products can give. The shades themselves are very buildable.
The packaging is Illamasqua’s signature shiny black and is very sturdy with a massive mirror inside which I really like to have included in bronzing products.

Illamasqua Bronzing Duos are available from Illamasqua counters and the Illamasqua website and retail at £23.50 for 2 x 4g.
If you are Glasgow based the Illamasqua counter is situated in Debenhams on Argyle Street and the staff are all very friendly so I’d really advise popping in to find the best shade for you.
