Toni & Guy Reverse Conical Wand
I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best at styling my hair.
My hair is naturally really thick and poker straight so I tend to stick with pinning the front back and that's about it. I don't even own a pair of straighteners and I'm a little behind the times with hair styling electricals.
I've always wanted gorgeous curls so for my first foray into styling, I've been trying out the Toni & Guy Reverse Conical Wand.
The Reverse Conical Wand is a ceramic, heated, curling tool which allows you to create beautiful loose curls which are tight at the top and wide at the bottom. It heats up incredibly fast to 200˚C, thankfully the wand comes with a handy heat protection glove which is a total live saver especially for someone like me.
Unfortunately, it turns out I'm not the best at using this wand and definitely could use a little practice. My attempts weren't the best as you can see (left pic) but I'll keep trying. A word of warning though is to be really careful using it, I'm quite clumsy and ended up with a wicked burn on my wrist, not good.
Thankfully, my friend is a bit of a pro with curling wands and she created some lovely beachy waves (right pic) in my hair for a night out. (not a burn in sight either thankfully)
Its reccomended that you use the Toni & Guy Forming Gel Spray along with the wand to hold the curls. I've constantly since getting it. Although I'm not great at using the curling wand, I find this spray really helps hold my style and give a little volume to my hair when blow drying. I normally hate hair products as I can't stand the sticky feeling however this doesn't leave any residue at all. I love this product!
You can buy the Toni & Guy Reverse Conical Wand from Boots (RRP: £30.00) and the Forming Spray Gel from Toni & Guy website (RRP £7.00)
