Three Little Birds Spa Glasgow with Treatwell

Saturday, April 23, 2016

I had a knee operation a few months ago and haven't really had the chance to treat myself to any nice spa or beauty treatments recently. Having surgery and using crutches really changes the way carry yourself and it can take a toll on your entire body.

My back has been aching for weeks and I had been thinking of booking myself in somewhere for a massage when Treatwell very kindly sent me off to Three Little Birds Spa in the West  End for a spot of pampering.
Treatwell (formerly Wahanda) is the largest hair and beauty bookings website in Europe with over 20,000 local partners which include spas, salons, hairdressers and more. You can find out information about book appointments 24/7 which is really handy if you are busy like me (or don't like phoning people). The website also features reviews from previous clients and a star system, its great to see what other's think of a venue before booking in.

I booked myself into Three Little Birds Spa for The Oxygenating Seasonal Facial & Swedish back, neck and shoulders massage combo (£54.00*). The salon is really close to my house but I've never visited before. It's a lovely, cosy little place nestled at the end of Great Western Road near St.Georges Cross, each of the treatment rooms are named after a different bird. My therapist was fantastic and explained both treatments over a nice cup of chamomile tea to chill me out a bit first.

My massage had to be altered slightly due to some of the medication I take and asthma as Swedish massage around the ribcage can occasionally trigger this. My therapist recommended more of a manipulation style and targeted problem areas for me such as my lower back and shoulder blades.. This type of massage isn't designed to be relaxing but it was exactly what I needed. My therapist was fantastic and left my back feeling much better afterwards.
I have quite dehydrated skin with some unusual dry patches at the moment (I expect this is from the medication I've been taking post-op) so my facial was tailored to providing as much hydration as possible to my skin. The salon use Sothy's brand products which were lovely and made my skin feel very soft and smooth afterwards.
I'd definitely visit the spa again and using Treatwell made the booking process incredibly simple.
