What's in my Handbag?

Friday, January 29, 2016

I'm first to admit that I carry around far too much junk on a daily basis. There is absolutely no need for the amount I lug around in my bag with me but nevertheless, each day I add more and more to it.
I love reading or watching videos of what people carry around with them. I'm so nosy. I last gave you a little peek into my handbag a few years ago so thought I'd give you a little update.

I had a really nice handbag from Anna Smith/LYDC but I recently broke the strap (from carrying too much in it....story of my life) so the bag I'm using at the moment is just a really big, soft, faux leather one from Primark. It's not very exciting and a bit beaten up looking so I'll spare you the sight of it.

I'll start of with the most important pieces from my bag which of course is the makeup and beauty products. Sometimes I don't have time in the mornings to do my makeup so I'll apply later in the day. This means I carry my full arsenal with me at all times, I do try to take mini or multi-purpose products where possible. I keep my makeup and brushes in the bag my Zoeva brushes came in. It's really handy and has a chunky zip.

Bobbi Brown Customisable Palette - The love of my makeup life! The palette comes empty and you can fill it yourself with eyeshadows or blushers. I currently have Bone, Black Plum, Midnight, Slate, Wheat (which I use as contour) and Clementine blusher. The mirror is huge too.
Bare Minerals Touch-up Veil in light - I really like this powder but I smashed it on the floor approx. 2 seconds ago so this won't be in my bag tomorrow
Nars Blusher in Taj Mahal - I like to use this as an eyeshadow as well as blush, such an unusual orange shade
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair - The best concealer on the high street
Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadow Stick in Greige - I like this as a base for a smoky eye as it adds a little extra sparkle.
Bobbi Brown Black Eye Opening Mascara - I love how long and thick my lashes look with this.
Anastasia Beverley Hills DipBrow Pomade in Auburn - Such a good colour match for my Auburn hair and really easy to apply.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Whizz in Auburn - I bought this on a whim, its too thin for me but I like the little spoolie on the end.
Urban Decay All Nighter Eyeliner in Perversion - I love this eyeliner so much as it really does last all night and is super black, sadly it's been discontinued but the 24/7 Waterline Pencil is just as good.
Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liner in Midnight Cowboy - For glitter liner emergencies!
L'Oreal True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory - I fill a sample bottle with this rather than take the full size. I'm late to the True Match party and I love it,
L'Oreal Superliner Superstar in black - I don't know why I keep using this as I'm not a fan. It's really easy to apply winged eyeliner and looks great for five minutes but as soon as rain or any sort of moisture comes into play this completely smudges.
MAC Cremesheen Glass in Japanese Spring - I'm not a lipstick fan but love these glosses, This one was limited edition but Partial to Pink is similar
Karen Walker B Eau de Parfum - I adore this scent at the moment. Its sweet, powdery and reminds me a little of MAC lipsticks. I don't carry the whole bottle but decant some into my travelo-type-bottle.

Again, I carry entirely too many brushes but I like to be prepared. I have three double ended, Urban Decay brushes, two from the Naked 2 Palette and one from Smokey. A Real Techniques angled crease brush, contour brush and retractable face brush. EcoTools small angled brush (for brows) Illamasqua mini blusher brush. MAC 275 medium angled shading brush and 129 powder brush and an angled Smashbox brush which came with the contour kit.

Finally, some of the other bits and pieces I have in my bag at the moment are;

2016 Diary - I think this was around £2 from Asda. I write down all my meetings and appointments because I'm fairly forgetful.
Glasses - I change my glasses most day's depending on what I wear. This pair are from Firmoo. I really like the tortoiseshell print and round shape of the frames. I've had several frames from Firmoo in the past and always really pleased with them.
LAIM Moisture Spray - My eyes get really dry because of the air conditioning in my office. I'm not a fan of using eyedrops so this is perfect. You just spray it when your eyes are closed to instantly soothes tired peepers.
Deodorant - I like the Nivea Invisible as I wear a lot of black. It work's well
Body Fantasies Grapefruit Body Spray - I really like the smell of grapefruit and spritz this all the time.
Bath and Bodyworks Orchard Frost Hand Sanitizer - A friend from work brought this back from Florida, I love the apple scent.
& Other Stories Fig Fiction Hand lotion - My friend Lynsay bought me this as I love Fig Scents. It
Wet Wipes - For fixing makeup, wiping hands etc.
Hair Bobble & Hair Grips - My hair can get a bit wild sometimes
Purse - I need a new purse ASAP. I lost my old black one so I'm using this cheap, pink one from Primark until I find one I like.
Fisherman's Friend - I am slightly addicted to these. I love them so much.
Ipod Shuffle & Earphones - I commandeered this from my younger brother. It's really handy when I don't want to use my phone battery.
Sony Xperia Z3 Compact - I have a little Ouija board case from headcase designs. Not sure why it has Yes written twice on it. Perhaps it only contacts optimistic spirits.
Charger/Charger Cable - This was from Primark years ago. I like that it has a little torch. The battery lasts a few charges which is handy.
Hearing Aid Pouch - I can't hear very well so I wear a hearing aid in my right ear. It's very discreet, most people don't notice it at all, it can be a bit uncomfortable at times which is annoying.

I also usually carry a notepad and pen, whatever book I'm reading (Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire at the moment) or my tablet, random teabags (usually green or chai, I love tea!) and some asthma inhalers/medication, I've not pictured those as they aren't very exciting.
