Jerome Alexander Magic Minerals

If you have ever been up late at night with the TV on I'm sure you will have seen an advert/infomercial for Jerome Alexander's Magic Mineral Powder. I've seen these all over JML and in supermarket stands (the ones with the video that plays) and was always a little bit skeptical about the quality. I recently gave the powder a go and although I don't quite think its "magic" I was pleasantly surprised. Magic Minerals is a pressed powder, foundation type product which has been designed to cover acne and other skin imperfections. As its mineral based it shouldn't clog pores to cause further outbreaks. It comes in a sturdy compact with a sponge (went straight into SFX kit) and a little brush (which isn't terrible)

At first I worried about the shade, I have very pale skin and initially thought this would be way too dark for me and I'd end up orange. Thankfully it seems to blend in and adapt slightly to my skintone. The powder also has pink, mint, lavander and yellow shimmery dots throughout which make it look quite pretty. I believe these are to help with correcting any skin concerns such as redness or dark circles, they don't leave any odd colours on your face thankfully.

I tried Magic Minerals both on its own and over foundation. I like a medium to heavy coverage base so I much preferred using this as a sort of setting powder. If you are looking to just even out your skintone then using it alone would probably work quite well but I'm not 100% convinced of its ability to hide acne completely. Coverage wise I'd say its quite light worn alone.

Overall, I'm quite pleased with this product. It's not something I'd rush out to buy again as I think its a tad pricey but I will keep using up the one I have as it does the job just nicely and as well as other finishing powders I have tried.
Magic Minerals is available from High Street TV, JML and some Asda Supermarkets for around £9.50
