Paul Mitchell Neuro Styling Tools ft. Hely Hair Studio

Tuesday, June 17, 2014

When it comes to hair styling, admittedly I'm a bit rubbish at it and need all the help I can get.
Paul Mitchell have launched a new range of styling tools designed to do just that. The Neuro Range has a tool for just about every style you could possibly think of be it loose waves, tight curls or sleek and straight.

The Neuro Styling Tools range consists of;

My own hair is naturally poker straight and doesn't hold a curl well, which is annoying as obviously I would love to have cascades of beautiful soft curls. Alas, I have to improvise.
I've been testing out the Neuro Unclipped 1.25 which is a conical shaped curling wand. The wand is fatter at the bottom and tapered towards the end. This allows you to create several different sizes of curl for a more natural look. The barrel is made of IsoTherm Titanium which gets very hot very quickly, don't worry though a special three fingered glove is provided so you don't get burnt.

As usual I was a bit rubbish at this, I need a bit more practice but the lovely stylists at Hely Hair Studio in Glasgow's Hyndland gave me some gorgeous bouncy curls using this wand. I've been trying to recreate it at home with varying degrees of success. I'll spare you the photos until I've mastered it.

To accompany the range Paul Mitchell has also launched a Super Strength Hairspray (£16.50) and Dry Wash (£18.95) as part of their Express Dry range. I mentioned before that my hair doesn't hold a curl well so I was really surprised when it stayed in til the next day without feeling crispy or like I had a lot of product in it.

You can find your nearest stockist by visiting the Paul Mitchell Website.
Hely Hair Studio is located on Clarence Drive in Hyndland, Glasgow. To book an appointment visit the Hely Website or call 0141 332 6068.
