IWearGlasses Reglaze Service

Tuesday, December 03, 2013

I've worn glasses every day since I was in my early teens, unfortunately back then no-one gave me the memo that massive NHS 80's style specs weren't cool and I recall a good few dodgy pairs.
Now it would seem that these styles have come back into fashion and I was indeed a trendsetter before my time (well... maybe…)

I love rocking a funky frame, and like to have different pairs to match my outfits. I seem to always veer towards red glasses so I’ve been looking for something a little different recently.
After an unsuccessful trawl through most of Glasgow’s Vintage and Charity shops, I got myself onto eBay and managed to find two pairs that I liked, a plain, black, cat-eye style and some amazing vintage frames for a total bargain.

I love the black cat eye pair for everyday wear, although they are fairly plain and great for work, the cat eye gives them a quirky 50’s feel.
The vintage pair is my absolute favorites! Initially these came with crazy yellow cigarette colored lenses. I toyed with getting them re-glazed with these again but I think it would have been a little bit too Hunter S Thompson than fashionable spectacle wearer of the year.

As I bought both of these online neither had my correct prescription. IWearGlasses have a fantastic re-glaze service which starts at £9.99 and is really simple. All you need to do is fill in your prescription, choose your lens type and pop your frames in the post. The whole process took around 1 week and my glasses were returned in perfect condition.

I can’t recommend IWearGlasses enough and will definitely be using them again in future.
As well as a re-glaze service* they also have a huge selection of ready made glasses and sunglasses to choose from.
