Bare Minerals Boutique - Glasgow Buchanan Galleries

Monday, April 22, 2013

Did you know BareMinerals have a Boutique Store within Glasgow's Buchanan Galleries? I  recently went along to check it out.

The Boutique itself is lovely, really bright and airy, I love that every product is out on display and could have happily swatched away all day.
Although I love BareMinerals eyeshadows, I've always stayed away from the foundations as I was a little frightened of them to be honest and didn't think I could achieve the look I wanted from them, so I was really interested to find out more.

If you are not familiar with BareMinerals, as the name would suggest, they are a mineral based cosmetics brand with a focus on natural beauty and the "less is more" look. (Something I am not familiar with as I mostly go for the more-is-more look for some reason)

Previously BareMinerals foundations came as a loose powder which isn't great for carrying around, I've had powders break all over my bag before - not good to clean up. They have now brought out a new Ready Foundation which is a pressed version of the loose powders which is much more "travel-friendly" and come in 20 shades.

During my "Make-Under" the new Ready Foundation was applied, these are buffed on with a BareMinerals Face Brush to blend seamlessly with the skin. The coverage is very light at first however can easily be built up to your desired level. I had a go of covering my tattoo with this and although not totally gone you can get an idea of coverage.

I also tried out the Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 quad in The Rare Find, I adore Eureka, (lime green). Some of the other quads are gorgeous, especially The Soundtrack and The Afterparty.

I wasn't too familiar with some of the other BareMinerals products, however they do have several Starter Kits with everything you need to get started, I've got my eye on the Complexion Kit as I was really impressed with how nice my skin looked after the foundation was applied.

You can buy BareMinerals online, the Glasgow Store is located on the Lower Ground Floor of Buchanan Galleries. Pop in to find out more, or for a free "Make-Under".
