Neal's Yard Remedies Mineral Pressed Eyeshadow - Review

Wednesday, November 21, 2012

Eyeshadows are probably my favourite cosmetics product, they are so versatile and come in a huge range of colours and finishes. I prefer the pressed variety and I was really looking forward to testing out the new mineral eyeshadows from Neal's Yard Remedies.

These eyeshadows are from Neal's Yard Remedies new mineral makeup range which I had a right good play around with at an event in the Glasgow store recently.

The mineral pressed eyeshadows come in 8 beautiful shades which is a great capsule eye collection which enables you to create loads of different looks for day and night.
They only thing I'd say about the collection of shades is that they are missing a really good brow highlight shade however the palest of the mineral foundations makes for a lovely matte shade so that could be used to finish off the look quite nicely.

The eyeshadows are a blend of natural minerals and light-reflecting mica in a base of super-fine organic corn starch which helps to give smooth and even, long lasting coverage.
All are enriched with antioxidant white tea and wild rosehip seed oil as well as organic skin-nourising oils to nourish, nurture and protect the skin.

The best thing about these eyeshadows is that they are talc, paraben and silicone free which is fantastic as it is often difficult to find a decent quality eyeshadow which is free from these ingredients. These are also certified by the Soil Association which is a charity campaigning for planet-friendly organic food and farming.

I have the Silver Birch shade which is a light, slate grey, this makes for the base of a beautiful smokey eye and is sure to be a staple in my winter makeup collection.
All of the shades have a shimmer to them due to the minerals but I love this as it means that as well as looking amazing dry, they make for some great metallic eyeliners if used wet.
I can't wait to pick up the rest of the collection.

Mineral Pressed Eyeshadows retail at £12.50 for 2g of product and are available from Neal's Yard Remedies stores as well as the Neal's Yard Remedies  website.
