Neal's Yard Glasgow Royal Exchange Square - Event

When I think of Neal's Yard Remedies I think of the luxurious hand creams and potions my mum always had when I was growing up, although I hadn't used many products before myself I've always been aware of the brand and the ethos intrigued me greatly.

I was recently invited to come along to Neal's Yard Remedies at their Glasgow Royal Exchange Square store and was really excited to go along and find out more.

Neal's Yard Remedies was established over in 1981 and when they opened their first shop in London's Covent Garden they were one of the few in the beauty industry who were against the use of synthetic chemicals in skin and health care, which are widely used in much of the industry.
Their vision was to bring the holistic approach expertise of the apothecaries of old to local people and their communities.

I love the thoughts behind this as I've started to become more aware of products I use and the effects they have on my body. I've been researching ingredients of a lot of beauty products I use regularly and have stopped using several as I've been quite shocked at some of the contents.

Neal's Yard Remedies found me at the perfect time as the products are all created as natural ways to improve our health and well being through natural and organic products, which means that no nasties hiding in the ingredients lists. You can find out more information regarding what ingredients they do and don't use by visiting the "Whats In Our Products?" page.

One of the distinctive features of Neal's Yard Remedies is their packaging as most products are housed in apothecary style blue glass bottles which are also act as decoration for the store. I've been told that the blue colour of the bottles keeps the light out so the products will stay fresh longer. The walls of the store are also adorned with a cacophony of glass jars filled with various herbs and plant products to create potions and remedies to treat a whole range of ailments.

At the store I was greeted with some lovely nibbles and a glass of red as well and then being shown some of their bestselling products; These are Frankincense Hydrating Cream , Beauty Sleep Concentrate and Wild Rose Beauty Balm. I have fallen in love with the Frankincense scented products they have a very relaxing scent to them and I've definitely got the Eau de Parfum on my Christmas wish list.
The Wild Rose Beauty Balm was kindly included in my goodie bag and I'm very quickly falling in love with it and have been slathering it on most of my body ever since. I'll be sharing my thoughts on this in full once I've given it a good test run.

I was then treated to a lovely, relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage from Anila who is one of the many fantastic therapists who offer a range of therapies in the treatment rooms below the store. It was wonderful and I could easily have fallen asleep while this was happening.

An overview of Neal's Yard Remedies was then given which gave me a fantastic insight into the background of the brand and its ethos, you can find out more about this on the "About Us" section of their website. I'd thoroughly recommend visiting the Neal's Yard website as it is full of fantastic information regarding the products and ethos as well as information about natural health and well being.
The company have also recently launched a cosmetics collection which I had a good play around with and I was really impressed, the line includes a huge selection of mineral foundations, powders, blushers and bronzers as well as pressed mineral eyeshadows, in gorgeous jewelled shades, and lipglosses.

I had a fantastic evening finding out more about Neal's Yard Remedies and will most definitely be visiting the store in the near future as they have some gorgeous gift sets which will make wonderful Christmas presents, what is also great is that most of the gift sets have reversible packaging so the brand and product details aren't shown until opening. What a great idea!

I'll leave you with a sneaky peek into the goodie bag I received and will be sharing some of the products with you after I've tried them out fully.

Neal's Yard Remedies information and products can be found on their website. The Glasgow store is located in Royal Exchange Square so I'd recommend popping in for a visit soon.
