Eating Out In Glasgow - Adlib
Friday, November 02, 2012If you are in Glasgow, enjoy a good burger and a chilled out "New York" style vibe then Adlib Glasgow is the place for you.
Myself and some work colleagues went for dinner recently after a teambuilding day and I really enjoyed the whole experience.
The venue has a very upmarket American diner style about it with New York scenes adorning the walls and nice comfy, bench type seating as well as private booths.
It is separated into a bar where you can enjoy a chilled out drink with friends and a slick restaurant to which serves classic American comfort food.
Adlib is famed for its burgers and although I didn't have one my colleagues assured me they were wonderful and their clean plates were certainly the proof.
I had the Birria Mexican Spicy Beef Stew with Chipotle, Ancho and Jalepeno Chilles and served with Red Rice, Corn Chips and Lime.
I'm a huge fan of spicy food so I also ordered extra Jalepeno's as a topping which solved the problem.
They offer a Brunch, Lunch and Evening menu which are all reasonably priced and have dishes which fit in with the American theme.
Most dishes are priced at around the £10.00 mark so I'd say that is also fairly reasonable.
Adlib on Hope Street also has a Monster Burger challenge where they offer up a huge 3lb Aberdeen Angus beef burger, 3 beef tomatoes, 2 onions, 1lb of cheese which must be eaten in two hours without leaving the table. If you are able to tackle the burger you get it for free and a tshirt, if not it will cost you £35.00. Still quite a good deal for a burger that size I'd say, but I don't think I'd manage anywhere near finishing it.
