Mon Guerlain

If you ever have the privilege of attending a press or blogger event in Glasgow, you are almost certain that the air will be filled with the scent of Guerlain’s latest fragrance, Mon Guerlain.

This perfume was released in Spring 2017 and has been a signature scent of the blogger community ever since. Historically, Guerlain has often been thought of as a brand for older ladies with scents such as Shalimar and being quite heavy. I suppose we could think of Mon Guerlain as Shalimar’s cool, younger sister. Apparently, Mon Guerlain was inspired by Angeline Jolie and is a tribute to today's femininity which is fitting as its definitely a very feminine scent.
The fragrance is instantly recognisable as Guerlain as, although its quite light, still has a lot of strong, complex notes working together like sandalwood, jasmine and vanilla. The initial scent, for me comes across as very sweet almost like marzipan or sugared almonds. Mon Guerlain then settles to a light, almost oriental and floral scent that lingers all day.

Mon Guerlain is really versatile, as its light enough for everyday wear but is still stand-out enough to wear on an evening out. The body lotion is also available to match which is really handy as it helps to prolong the scent. I like to apply a little of the lotion to my wrists and neck and let dry before spritzing a little of the perfume on over where I’ve applied. This is a great little trick if you want your fragrance to last all day and even into the night.

Mon Guerlain is available in various sizes I have the 30ml and also a set where you buy the larger 100ml bottle and get a teeny little 30ml bottle to. It’s brilliant value. The fragrance is also available as a small votive-style candle which has exactly the same scent as the perfume and fills the room quickly. I love lighting mine when I’m getting ready to go out and it looks beautiful on my dressing table. Although Guerlain are most famous for their fragrances, they also have a brilliant makeup range. I am a total convert to their mascaras and vow never to be without one. The Guerlain Maxi Lash mascara is perfect for me, gives long, beautifully separated lashes with great curl and staying power. Plus it removes like a dream. Definitely one to try if you are in the market for a new mascara, just look at the gorgeous gold packaging too!

Guerlain Fragrances are available in most major department stores including Debenhams and House of Fraser. Have you tried it yet? Let me know in the comments or message me on social media to let me know what you think.
