My Week on Instagram #1

Sunday, October 19, 2014

This week has been very busy for me and I am now absolutely shattered, I'm currently snuggled up in bed with a hot water bottle and some hot chocolate in my lovely handpainted Sunflower mug from Bluebell Grey. I've been trying out a few different hot chocs recently including an amazing Cinnamon Hot Chocolate from John Lewis. Its perfect for these chilly nights. Shearer's Winter Fig has been my bedtime candle recently, its lovely and warming.
I'm not quite ready to put on my winter duvet yet so I picked up this cute floral bed set from BM Bargains. It was only £6.99 and is supersoft.  This cute little hedgehog was a gift from Mr's mum, she actually bought me it for Christmas but I found it early by mistake so I got it early.

I attempted to organise a little this week, It didn't go well and things seem more messy than before. I really need to develop a system for storing products and other bits and bobs.
We went to pizza hut and tried the new Ninja Turtles pizza deal, they have  4 new pizzas for each of the turtles, I opted for Donatello's as it has veggies and olives on it, Yum!
I've been trying out some of Lush's Christmas and Halloween products in the bath. I'm so happy that I've got more Snow Fairy, I ran out a few months ago. The Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar is really cute too although I forgot it was a bubble bar and wondered why it wasn't fizzing when I dropped the whole thing into the bath, oops.
I've been having a lot of nice pampering at the moment and have been using lots of lovely Arran Aromatics products. My lips have been really chapped in the cold so the Honey and Lemon lipbalm has been a lifesaver.

I tried my hand at baking at the blogger bake off at Glasgow cookery school.  This was part of a #currysinthekitchen event and I got to make scones, cupcakes and Victoria sponge as well as trying out some of Kenwoods food mixers.
When I got home I realised that somewhere along the day I had smashed my beloved Illamasqua Disobey contour powder, This makes me sad!

We took a trip to Amsterdam on the boat at the weekend. It was really last minute (ie. planned the day before) We go once or twice a year but I've never gone by boat before. I have hearing and balance issues so it was a little bumpy for my liking. I did enjoy staying in the little cabin and the duty free shops. I picked up two DNKY perfumes, Be Delicious and Be Delicious Fresh Blossom for 35euros which is a bargain.
My new Illamasqua travel brush set was great for the trip, I normally lug around a full set of brushes so this was perfect. It comes with a little makeup bag too.
Someone asked me recently which foundation I wear, truth is a wear a mixture of a few depending on how my skin is that day or the weather. I'll be sharing some of my favorites soon.
