Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh
Friday, June 21, 2013
We all know I'm partial to the odd cocktail and a firm favorite place for cocktails outside of Glasgow is Edinburgh's Hard Rock Cafe.
Hard Rock Cafe's are famous the world over and Edinburgh's George Street is home to Scotland's sole Hard Rock venue and what a venue it is.
For those who aren't familiar with Hard Rock, they are a chain themed restaurants, jam packed with rock memorabilia with venues in almost every country in the world.
I popped along to the Edinburgh cafe a few weeks ago as I was in Edinburgh for an event. My lovely
friend Adrienne (a.k.a The Sunday Girl) came along too and I can safely say we were suitably stuffed afterwards, it took a lot of effort to leave.
The first thing on our minds was cocktails, Adrienne had a Pickled Tink which I also sampled and was a bit like a pina colada with strawberry daiquiri. I can't remember the name of mine but it was along the lines of a fruity Long Island Iced tea and was very tasty. I also had a raspberry margarita. I'm a huge margarita fan so this went down very nicely. If you order the larger size of drinks you also can take a special Hard Rock glass home.
I honestly don't know how we managed to make room for our mains afterwards. As Hard Rock is famous for its Legendary Burgers we each chose one of these. Adrienne went for the Legendary Burger (£13.99) which was a feast of a 10.oz burger topped with bacon, two slices of Cheddar cheese, a crisp fried onion ring, lettuce, tomato, and gherkins. I went for the S.O.B Burger (£13.99) which is based in Chipotle pepper puree and topped with Montery Jack cheese, served on a buttered-toasted bun with Hard Rock Guacamole, Salsa and grilled onions. The burgers are all served with seasoned fries. I was disappointed that we didn't manage to finish the burgers, we were totally stuffed but Hard Rock are one of the few places these days that will happily give you a box to take the rest home. The Mr assures me that both burgers are equally as good 5 hours later.
I've also tried the Famous Chicken Fajitas which was served across three plates, I'm a huge fajita fan and these were delicious.
Hard Rock also has a fantastic memorabilia store within the cafe where you can buy some of the Hard Rock Cafe's famous tshirts, caps and pins. I need to get my hands on one of the classic tees next time I visit, I'd go for a mans version and cut it into a cool rock tee.
To really experience The Hard Rock Cafe's you really need to go so if you are based in Scotland make sure you get yourself booked in at the Edinburgh venue, you won't regret it.
