Christmas Gift Guide 2021 - beauty and lifestyle

Thursday, December 16, 2021

In this year's gift guide I'm sharing some things that I've really been enjoying and think would make great gifts for other people. I'd love to wake up on Christmas morning to any of these in wrapped up under the tree and hope you would too.

Firstly, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without my house smelling nice and cosy and Shearer Candles have released some absolutely gorgeous festive scents this year.
Shearer is a Glasgow based, family owned, candle company where I've recently had the pleasure of visiting their new store in St.Enoch Centre.

Some of my top picks this year are the 'Tis the Season' Diffuser (£25.00) which is a perfect mix of festive pear and pomegranate and Deck the Halls triple wick candle (£20.00) which is a lovely warm apple scent. Shearer also have plenty of old favorites available like Amber Noir which is an intoxicating mix of tuberose, violets and amber.

I can't seem to do a Christmas gift guide without mentioning my favorite jewellery brand, Dower and Hall who create luxury, British, designer jewellery. All of the pieces are beautifully handcrafted right here in the UK and are priced very reasonably for the quality. A key piece for this time of year is the Small Hammered Star Story Charm (£35.00) which I wear with the Long Dotty Necklace Chain (£60.00) both pieces are also available in gold.

Another brand I've been recently introduced to is Daisy London, who, again are a British jewellery brand who create beautiful, everyday pieces.
This selection of silver rings can be worm together, stacked or alone. I love the Daisy Bloom Crown Band Ring (£65.00) and the gemstone rings. I have both the Labradorite Healing Stone Ring (£29.00) and Amazonite Healing Stone Ring (£29.00) which would make lovely gifts for friends or family.

During the pandemic I've stripped back my makeup and skincare and have been really focusing on using good quality products that will benefit my skin (or at least help fake a good night's sleep). Some of my must have's that would be perfect for anyone's Christmas stocking and will suit most skin types are:

Urban Decay Naked Cyber eyeshadow palette (£36.00) - The newest member of the Naked palette family is a lovely mix of duo-chrome, matte and neutral shadows. It's great for everyday wear and dramatic, night time looks. There is also a great Full Download Cyber Palette gift set (£47.60) also containing a mascara and primer, which would make a lovely gift too.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base(£46.00) - This is the perfect base for makeup or can be worn alone as a light moisturiser. It's great for most skin types too.

MAC Magic Radiance Fix+ (£26.00) - This nourishing mist helps boost hydration all day. I've added this into my routine and my skin has never felt better. It contains hyaluronic acid, essential oils, and vitamin C and helps keep makeup in place all day.

Charlotte Tilbury Youth Glow (£39.00) - If you are looking for a light, glowy, primer this one is perfect for you.

I use these products most days and love the way they make my skin feel. I try not to wear too much makeup daily but find wearing this combination gives a nice glow without being heavy.

Lastly, I couldn't finish off without adding in a few books. I love reading and books make such great gifts. Some of my favourites for this year are:

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig - I actually haven't finished reading this yet but I've heard such lovely things about this book and waiting to get stuck in over Christmas.

Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier - One of my favourites and one I like to go back to. I love the mystery and eeriness of Manderley.

Fear Street: The Beginning by R.L. Stine - I've been enjoying the nostalgia of pre-mobile and internet horror books. The Fear Street books are a fun, short reads that are great for cosy winter days.
