Styling For A Christmas Away...

Sunday, December 15, 2013

This Christmas we’ll more than likely be spending a few days out of town with family rather than staying at home so I like to be sure I have all the essentials with me at all times.

For me, the festive season is a time for celebrating and having fun so I need to make sure I’m covered for any kind of impromptu Christmas or New Year party.  I’m definitely not one to pack light, even for just a weekend away and I usually take a little suitcase on wheels, like this bright Lulu Guinness suitcase or Samsonite F'lite suitcases rather than a weekend bag as I find that they normally hold a little bit more and keep clothes from creasing as much.

Some of my essential items for the festive season include;

Makeup - Tools for a classic smokey eye are all you need, I love the Urban Decay Smoked Pallete as you can easily create a multitude of sultry looks. To accompany this I use L'Oreal Perfect Slim Superliner and MAC Smoulder Eye Khol as well as Benefit They're Real for amazing fluttery lashes. Top this off with a pair of Illamasqua No. 14 lashes. For lips Illamasqua Maiden Intense Lipgloss is a great peachy nude shade or for the more daring I'd go for CK One Shine Lipstick in Rockin as its a gorgeous, berry tone.

Clothing - You can't go wrong with a LBD at Christmas. I'll be packing at least 3 different styles so I'm prepared for any occasion and some different coloured tights to mix things up a bit. Some sparkly jewelery is a must I think this ladies Mawi jewellery would add an edgy bit of glam for New Year and if I received any of these designer charm bracelets as gifts for Christmas I'd be very happy!

Shoes -Unfortunately, I've broken my foot just in time for Christmas so no high heels for me.  I had been planning on packing some amazing gold glittery courts but alas, I'll be hobbling about on crutches and one trainer for the festive season.

Are you going away at Christmas, What are your essentials?
