Kiehls Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream

I love using Kiehls Skincare products, I use the Ultra Facial Cream religiously, so I was really excited to hear they have branched out into the world of BB Creams.

BB Creams are a foundation/skincare hybrid which are normally fairly light coverage but give the skin a natural glow and help to even out the skintone.

I've tried out a good few BB creams so far, with varying rates of success so I was a little skeptical about trying another, however the good folks at Kiehls seem to have nailed it with this one.

Kiehl's Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream is an instantly perfecting formula which is clinically proven to correct skin tone irregularities. It contains Vitamin C and a Broad Spectrum SPF 50 PA+++. I always wear a foundation product with as high an SPF as possible so this really appealed to me. It comes in three, natural mineral pigment shades, light, fair and natural.

BB Creams and I don't normally get on. Although I don't really need it, I'm a full coverage kind of girl, however with the warmer weather (hopefully) on its way, it isn't really practical (or a good look) to have Illamasqua Rich Liquid foundation melting all over the place.
This is where BB creams come in handy as they are similar to a tinted moisturiser and feel light on the skin.
I've been testing out the light shade and although it took some getting used to and dragging myself away from the full coverage, I really liked wearing it. As the BB Cream is a multipurpose product (makeup and skincare) there is no real need to wear an additional moisturiser underneath.
I found that although not as full coverage as I'm used to it left my skin looking pretty good.
I used a flat foundation brush to apply all over my face and then patted some extra under my eyes as a sort of concealer.

BB Creams are best left without powdering as they give a lovely dewy finish which makes the skin look more youthful. I'd only recommend using a translucent or blotting powder if you have an oily skintype.

Overall I can definitely say I'm a fan of Kiehls BB Cream, Its great if you are aiming for a fresh look and is very quick to apply. If you like to go to the gym a lot like me, but don't like the "bare-faced" look then this product is for you as it gives enough coverage without looking like you are covered in makeup.
I think it would be great for festivals so I'll be heading out to get a full size version soon for my Glastonbury kit!
Kiehls Actively Correcting and Beautifying BB Cream retails at £23.50 for 30ml and comes in a squeezy tube. You can buy online at the Kiehls website or from a Kiehls concession in most major department stores. Kiehls also have an amazing standalone store in Edinburgh's George Street. Why not pop in for a free skin consultation.
