Benefit Glamouriety Roadshow

Monday, March 04, 2013

I was lucky enough to attend Benefit's Glamouriety Roadshow recently and I can safely say it really was one of the most Glam events I've ever attended.

Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket which is within the Merchant City proved to be a fantastic venue as the old, industrial style hall was decorated beautifully with fairy lights, diamontes and plenty of pink fizz.

The Glamouriety Roadshow was primarily for Benefit employees and was to showcase Benefit's film Glamouriety which tells the tale of Benefit's colourful and exciting History and introduces you to the founders, twins Jean and Jane Ford. I had seen a few clips of Glamoriety but nothing prepared me for the feature I was about to see, it was fantastic. Without giving too much away, I learned a huge amount about Benefit's early years while enjoying a good old laugh and singsong throughout, (and a few teary moments too, I'm a sucker for musicals and always get a bit emotional).

I'm a big fan of Benefit as a brand and the movie really helped to instill Benefit's background and values as well as showing that they really do care about their employees and customers. Mr and Mrs Benefit UK also chatted to us about the brand a little more in depth and I was really interested to find out that the Glasgow House of Fraser store is the most popular in Europe.

We were also treated to a hilarious "makeup lesson" from Gabby Best who was the winner of Funny Women 2012 as well as some fantastic burlesque dancers and a musical treat from Elle and the Pocket Belles, a 40's inspired 5 piece girl group.

Overall I had a fantastic night, those BeneBabes sure know how to glam up and have fun.
