Wet n Wild Trio Review - Cool as a Cucumber

Friday, October 19, 2012

Out of all the Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Trio's Cool as a Cucumber was the trio I was most looking forward to.
Unfortunately out of all the eye trios I have this ended up being the biggest dissapointment as althought the colours looked amazing in the pan, sadly they didn't transfer to the skin in the same way.

Wet n Wild eyeshadow trios come in a variety of colours and each set includes three complimentary shades, one for highlighting the browbone, one for the lid and a crease shade.
The shadow itself in the pan is also printed with the suggested area to apply but you can always mix and match these if it takes your fancy.

Wet n Wild eyeshadows are famed for being very pigmented, soft and easy to blend and I would agree with this on the most part however the Cool as a Cucumber trio seems to be an exception to the rule.

Cool as a Cucumber eyeshadow trio is something that, in the pan, is right up my street, I adore green eyeshadows especially teamed with a little purple under the lower lashline and although it looks ok when applied it does lack the punch I so desired from the trio.

Again, like some other Wet n Wild eyeshadow trios, Cool as a Cucumber lacks a decent browbone hightlight.
The pale mint shade in this kit would look a little strange right up to your browbone so I'd reccomend using this in the inner corner of your eyes as it really brightens this area

The lid shade is a forest green with gold/green shimmer throughout, the shimmer seems to come out more than the actual pigment with this sadly.

The crease shade is a pretty plum with small glittery particles, this is my favorite shade from the set and although not as pigmented as I'd hoped looks ok after a few layers or on top of a sticky base such as Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.

These eyeshadow trios are really handy for popping into your handbag for touchups or for changing a makeup look from day to night wear.  They come with a little brush and a sponge tipped appliator which are great for on the go application.

Unfortunately Wet n Wild products aren't available to buy in any stores in Glasgow or the UK as far as I am aware as they are a US based company but you can find these products on The Beauty Joint, Amazon or eBay for a few £££s.
